Released at Q2 2008, Sony Ericsson W760 truly is a first truly global Walkman phone with tri-band HSDPA, enabling broadband speed downloads of the latest music and content wherever in the world it is used. As a close relative to Sony Ericsson W910, both phones are so similar in their design. However, W760 is complete with the better features then W910.
The Sony Ericsson W760 also is a first Sony Ericsson phone to offer an integrated GPS receiver. It support Google Maps for local mobile search as well as Wayfinder Navigator to provide driving directions (where you need to pay for this service). This application lets you search over 20 million points of interest around the globe and talks you to your destination every turn of the way.
The shake control was the selling point of Sony Ericsson’s phone since the released of Sony Ericsson W580. When it’s come to W760 the Shake control is much smoother and refined. You will no longer need to jerk the phone hard to get it to work.
As the leading Walkman-branded handsets on the market, we are not surprise to know that W760 support numerous file formats and has several equalizer presets. The music sound quality is still as good as before. The phone also integrated with FM radio, with has memory for 20 stations. The unique of the radio is can be minimized in the background much like the music player but offers none of the fancy fullscreen graphics.
Beside as a music phone, the Sony Ericsson W760 also aims to be the gaming phone. The two ‘game buttons’ that reside above the display, the handset can be held lengthways as you would a GBA or PSP. The benefit is can prevents the user from becoming frustrated by having to use the mobile phone keypad as an interface. The phone also houses two 3D heavyweights games – the accelerometer-based Need for Speed Pro Street and the Rollercoaster Rush 3D. And we are please to know that the visuals are razor-sharp and everything moves at an impressive pace.
Other features of note on this Sony Ericsson W760 include 3.2 megapixel camera, a 1GB memory stick storage card (with 40MB of shared internal memory. Fantastic! ), video call and Sony Ericsson’s “Tracker” fitness program, which makes use of the built-in GPS receiver. All this features make W760 even become more attractive.
The Sony Ericsson W760 is an excellent phone. However, I think the camera of this phone deserve to have more function because the present version camera is no feature flash or auto focus function. But for those who are not so care about the camera, Sony Ericsson no doubt isĀ a great phone.
