Nowadays, people are hardly to get rid of mobile phone . Mobile phone has become so widely and common to use in the world.  But did you know the history of mobile phone? what is the 1st mobile phone? When did the first commercial mobile phone has been made? What what does its cost for the 1st mobile phone?

Well, In October 13, 1983, 25 years ago,the very first commercial mobile phone call ‘Motorola DynaTAC 8000X’ was made. This phone is Weighing in at 2.5 pounds, 13 inches long and only 30 minutes of talk time, which is far away from the handsets of today.

The Motorola DynaTAC handset was the first commercial cell phone.

In the past, only those wealthy people has the ability to buy the mobile phone. It is not everybody can afford of it. It is retailing for about $3,995 each, and the network costing $50 a month just for the service, plus 40 cents a minute at peak hours and 24 cents a minute at off-peak times. Since it is cost so much to own a mobile phone, its has become a symbol for a wealthy person, just like Ferrari for today.

But when 25 years past, everything was changed a lot. Today, even a primary school boy can have their own mobile phone. And the phone can do more then just talk and able to slips into a jeans pocket easily. The population that owning mobile phone also has increased insanely.  In 1984, a year after Ameritech Mobile launched its service, the company had signed up about 12,000 subscribers. Today, there are 262 million wireless subscribers in the United States. Note that the statistic is from U.S. only, not to mention 3.3 billion active cell phones worldwide.

“Wireless technology is the printing press of the 21st century,” said Steve Largent, President and CEO, CTIA - The Wireless Association, is commemorating a major industry and technology milestone this month - the 25th anniversary of the first commercial cellular call in the United States.
