The INQ1
For all the phone geeks, you are going to heard about a brand new phone manufacture’s name call INQ. The company is under Hutchison Whampoa (HUWHY), the Hong Kong conglomerate that operates ports, retail stores, and wireless-service providers around the world is aiming to enter phone manufacturing industry. Perhaps Hutchison can’t be considered as a newbie in this industry, because company already designed the 3 Skypephone, which lets customers make free wireless calls to any Skype user last years.
The company’s first phone, the INQ1, is due out in Britain and Australia this year and in seven other markets where Hutchison has wireless operations in the first half of 2009. The phone main features would be offer the best Web experience to users. It has built into its phones new ways to use popular online services such as Facebook, eBay (EBAY), and Skype. Despite of that, the company also promise to sell the phone in a very low price if compare whit other samrtphone that can can surf the Web such as Apple’s iPhone and Research In Motion’s (RIMM) BlackBerry. INQ will sell its phones to carriers at prices low enough that they’re expected to cost consumers $50 or less, with some devices free after subsidies from wireless operators.
The mobile phone industry has been so competitive. I wonder how far INQ can go. But no matter how, it is good news for consumers because the move may help lower the prices of advanced mobile phones for consumers and stiffen competition among phone makers.
