The LG Glance is a new budget candybar-style handset for Verizon Wireless that has been release about month ago. Although it is a basic camera phone but it does take decent photo and call quality. Because this is an entry-level phone, there aren’t as many fancy Verizon doo-dads to play with as on their higher-end LG phones, such as 3G, visual voicemail support, touchscreen, but it still remains as a good phone. Let’s face it, not everyone can afford smartphones, basic phone has it own market as some people may want to have a back up phone or bought to their children.

Design

Measuring 109mm long by 47mm wide by 10mm thick and the weight of 83g , the Glance is very thin and light. This slim and sleek candy-bar style handset has  slightly rounded corners. The phone sports a decent display of size 2 inches and the screen offers a native resolution of 320 × 240 pixels and 262k colors. The text and colors on the phone look very crisp and bright. Below the screen is the basic navigation keys consists of two soft keys, a joystick toggle, the Send key, the Clear/voice command key, and the End/Power key. The numeric keypads is houses at the bottom part of the phone. The keys are well spaces, each row of keys is on raised slates, and there’s enough delineation between each key to dial by feel.On the back of the phone, you will see a 1.3MP camera lens. The the camera key  is located at the right spine along with the charger jack. At the left is the 2.5-millimeter headset jack, the volume rocker, and the speakerphone key.

Features

The phone does feature GPS capabilities though it is a entry-level phone. The GPS support for VZ Navigator and Chaperone navigation software. You also get mobile e-mail and mobile Web e-mail–mobile e-mail lets you get e-mail sent directly to the phone, while mobile Web e-mail opens up a browser.

The camera can be set for five white balance presets, five color effects, a night mode, a self-timer, three photometry options. Pictures can be take in three resolutions, 1,280×960, 640×480, and 320×240. The photo quality from this camera is also very good for a 1.3-megapixel camera. But it would be better if the camera has come with a flash.

Other basic features of this phone includes a 1,000-entry phone book (with room in each entry for five phone numbers, two e-mail addresses, and a street address), a speakerphone, a tip calculator, a calendar, an alarm clock, a world clock, a notepad, a stopwatch and etc. You can also found a Bluetooth system, speakerphone in this phone too.

Conclusion

The LG Glance is just like it name suggested, you will know how easy for this phone to use even at a glance only. Honestly, the phone most attractive feature is the GPS function. A GPS navigation system in a entry-level phone, totally big attraction considering to the price.
