The LG KM900 was one of the hottest product on the last Mobile World Congress that held on last month. Again, most of the people said it would be another iphone killer. Well, we doubt about it, because we already heard many opinion like this last year, but what we see now there is no single model can ‘kill’ the iphone.

Design

Measure at 105.9 x 55.6 x 11.95mm and the weight of 105g, the Arena is just fit a size of palms. It is light and compact, so you will not feel chunky at all.  The front is almost full covered by the 3-inch 480 x 800 resolution WVGA touch sensitive screen. Note that there are three buttons below the display, there are also touch orientated. Overall, the design of LG Arena is pretty simple, but it still a beautiful device for us.

User Interface

The LG KM900 Arena is implementing the latest S-Class interface, which is works as a 3D cube, allowing you to swipe you way through four sliding  customizable homescreens. Each of the homescreen stands out their functions.  For example, there is a multimedia site, a main menu and so on. For texting, you either can type in a full QWERTY keypad in landscape mode or in a standard mobile phone layout in portrait mode. The animation is work smoothly and beautifully, and most importantly the response time is quick enough, the lagging period is less than 1 sec, so you won’t feel the lag.

Camera

The camera in the LG KM900 Arena has the resolution of 5MP, features with face detection, image stabilization, ISO 800 mode, LED flash and Schneider-Kreuznach lens. The quality of this camera is okay, but the autofocus somewhat laggy. Also the LED flash won’t help too much in the low light area. The camera also able to record video at 30fps in WVGA and 120fps at QVGA format.

Music

With the help of the Dolby Mobile, the Music playback in this phone is excellent. If you want to feel more powerful sound quality, plugin your headphones through the 3.5mm headphone jack, you will surprisingly to know how loud it can be.   Like most of the player, it support MP3/AAC/AAC+/WMA music files. The FM transmitter in this handset also allow you to share your music file through radio wave.

Video

The video player in this handset able to play DivX/XviD/MPEG4 video format. The player even allows user to zooming when play the video. If you not satisfied on the small screen to watch video, you can watch it on your TV through the TV-out feature.

Final Words

On balance, LG KM900 Arena is no doubt is an excellent phone. The cool interface,  multimedia capabilities and the stylish design will attracts the young generation to buy it.
