LG KS660 Review – Dual Sim Business Phone

For the very first time, LG released its own Dual Sim Card mobile phone – the LG KS660. Dual Sim phone has been on the market for a while, even LG’s rival Samsung already has few of them on the market. So let see how does LG make KS660 differently.

Design

The LG KS660 has the classic touchscreen candy-bar style design phone. The phone has a dimension of 105×55×14,9mm  and with the weight of 115g which is not a small size phone. On the front is the 3.0-inch TFT screen. Like other phone, your fingerprint are easy left on the screen. However, the screen working quite well under bright sunlight. Actually the LG KS660 don’t have any interesting innovation or extraordinary means in the design. Not ugly but not impressed me much.

Camera

LG KS660 is equipped with a built-in 5 MegaPixel camera which comes with autofocus, flash, and video recording capabilities. The quality of the image is quite acceptable.

Anti-theft

The LG KS660 actually is a business oriented phone. So the phone have a feature called Anti-theft Mobile Tracker, which is capable of tracing the handset if ever it is stolen and the important  information for a businessman will not lost.

TouchScreen

LG KS660 is come with a stylus which is for user to control the phone. However, you will found that fingers are easier then the stylus. However, the phone also has come with handwriting reorganization feature, so the stylus are play the main role for this feature.

Multimedia

Like most of the high-end phone, the LG kS660 support most of the music format which includes AAC, eAAC, MP3 and WMA. Also, the  MPEG4 and WMV video file can be play in the intergrated media player too. LG claims that the phone has the capacity of nonstop 15 hours of music playback. The built-in FM Radio providing recording facility, which you can record your favorite radio program anytime you want.

Dual Sim

Beneath the battery of LG KS660, you will found two sim card slot where you can insert your sims. Note that you have to choose a “primary” sim-card, and “secondary” sim card in the proper card slot. The cool about this dual sim phone is you can received call and sms without changing Sim-cards or turn off the phone. Well Done!

Final Words

The LG KS660 is good for those who always travel across many regions where network signals vary. The phone got what it takes to be a excellent business phone. But the lack of 3G and WiFi make the phone imperfect. However, LG has done a great job on its first dual-sim phone.

The LG KS660 will be first released at European and Chinese markets.

  3. Doug says:

I have been using it for about 5 months, and it is rubbish – the most frustrating phone I have ever had (worse than the Sony Ericsson I had 6 years ago).

The first month was fine but it gets worse with time. Problems:

    – when writing texts words disappear for seemingly no reason (it has something to do with the rhythm with which you press the keys but not figured out why). 1 in every 2 texts I write the “do you wish to save to drafts?” screen pops up for no reason whilst typing. Click yes and you then leave the editor and have to find the text in your drafts, click no and you lose it all – great.

    – No warning to say that your message memory is full, simply when you try to send a message it will not send. You cannot delete old messages without quitting editor and cannot save the message if you quit.

    – these days takes a very long time to start up (about 3 minutes during which the screen freezes – and sometimes requires battery removal to reset)

    – touch pad is not very accurate after 1 month, sometimes not registering firm pressure for 10 seconds or so

    – Very slow, searching through address book is horribly tedious.

    – messages in my inbox have been jumbled around, titles, dates, sender numbers and content have all been mixed up!! Some text even cut out of old messages and then inserted into a different folder as a message from someone else.

I could go on, but I don’t think I need to. If you intend to send more than 10 text messages, don’t buy it. Everything else is pretty standard – except for the 5 megapixel camera which is awful.

Having 2 sims is a bonus, and the only reason I bought the phone, but I am about to go and buy 2 single sim phones instead. There goes 300 pounds

This a no-nonsense phone. Value for money!!!

2 SIM cards are working flawlessly.

Camera is far better than more expensive models, and can even get decent photos in darker environment as the flash is pretty bright.

Address book and it’s options are relatively easy and convenient.

Voice quality is above average and no ECHO as what others are saying

Overall I give it a 9 out of 10, based on quality, features and price. Got mine for HK$ 1,820 or US$ 235
