LG Xenon was rumored to be released around the Christmas season last year, but in fact it just launch by AT&T on April 9. It seem many people were awaited this mobile phone. So let find out what lies beneath this hand phone.

Design

From the side-slider form factor of LG Xenon, apparently this phone is come with a slide out Qwerty keypad. It measure around 105.5 x 53.5 x 15.8 mm and weighs only about 108 grams and has a 2.8-inch touch-screen display that supports 262,000 colors and 240×400 pixels. The touchscreen is responsive and it view bright and great contrast images on it. The screen almost entirely dominated the front surface, but it still have 3 keys underneath the display. They are the Call and End/Power keys, plus a task manager key that lets you switch between open applications.

Slide open is the full four-line QWERTY keyboard. When you slide the keyboard out, the screen orientation will change from portrait mode to landscape mode, like most of the side-slider handsets. Because there is a motion sensor implant inside the phone. The keys on this keyboard are well-spaced and feel very tactile, making it easy to type with speed. Besides, there are dedicated keys for text message,mobile e-mail,Web browser,phone book, @ symbol and a .com, which make your texting easier and faster.

Multimedia

There is a music player come with LG Xenon which allows you to play MP3/WAV/e-AAC+/WMA/AMR music files. The quality of the speaker is bad because the audio sounded tinny and hollow. Also, the phone is lack of 2mm or 3mm headset jack. So you might get a Bluetooth headset in order to enjoy music in this phone.

For the video quality is better. If you not too choosy about the audio, you can still use Xenon to watch your favorite MTV. the video player is able to play MPEG4/3gp files.

The Xenon is come with a 2 MP with the resolution up to 1600×1200 pixels. There is a dedicated camera button on the right spine. The camera did come with a LED flash but no self-portrait mirror, however. The photo quality is pretty good actually.  Enough for most people normal snapping.

AT&T Service

Since the phones is launch by AT&T, so there are few service you can enjoy form the network. In term of video, the AT&T’s Cellular Video lets you watch streaming video clips from content providers like CNN and CBS. While the AT&T Video Share lets you make one-way video calls to another Video Share-compatible phone. Of cause there are also have the music service. You can buy music via AT&T Mobile Music. It is a music portal with an online music store by Napster. Besides, the Mobile Music offering a service called XM Radio Mobile, which let you listen to satellite radio.  However, if you wish to enjoy all this service, you have to subscribe to AT&T service.

Final Words

With so many texter phone released lately, LG Xenon is definitely in my top 3 list. The convenient and ease of use keyboard on this phone bringing pleasant texing experience. Recommended for all texter to have a try.
