It seem most of the phone makers are affected by the financial crisis, so they start to change their margin strategies. So it is expected to having more mid-range or low-end phones this year. The music phone – Nokia 5130 XpressMusic, from the popular Nokia XpressMusic line was one of them. Its so far is the cheapest model in the same range.

Design

The Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is thin and small, but fits easily in the palm. The TFT display is 240 x 320 pixels,  shows up to 16 million colors. It is just the same as Nokia 5310. Below the screen is the navigation and the soft key. The navigation key is great, big size and easy to pressed. Next is the numeric keypads that made from plastic. The buttons is flat and glossy, similar to the front surface. There is nothing new in Nokia 5130. It is the classic candy bar design which look so alike with another music phone Nokia 5310.

Music/Video

The music player in Nokia 5130 is quite common as it is using S40 platform. Its supports AAC, eAAC, eAAC +, MP3, WMA-files, in addition player also support MP4/WMA/3gp video files and a built-in FM radio too. As a music phone, the 5130 already provide 3.5 mm jack allows you to connect any of its headphones. Unfortunately the loudspeaker is not quite good enough. It is loud, but couldn’t regards as a music box.

Camera

The camera which lies in the back of Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is 2 megapixel camera feature complete with a 4 x digital zoom function. The camera is pretty good for a phone of this range. The device also allows you to record QCIF resolution video clips.

Performance

The response of the application in Nokia 5130 is quite fast and without pause. For batteries, it can survive about 2 hours for the music playback. Frankly, it is not enough for most of the music lover.  There are about 31MB of memory available for the user and support up to 8G memory card, it is fairly enough capacity for most of the users.

Final Words

Actually the most attractive element of Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is the price. With only about 90Euro, the price is consider to be fairly low  for the same range music phone. Recommended for people who are looking for a budget music phone.
