Nokia seem mixed up the two device to form the 5230 because it has a layout of 5800 and the personality of 5530. Read on to find out more. HardwareThe Nokia 5230′s design is exactly identical with XpressMusic 5800, both of them are measures 111 x 51.7 x 15.5 mm in dimension. However, the 5230 is slightly 6g heavier, which is hard to noticed. Other design on the phone are still same, the same 3.2″ 360 x 640 pixels resolution touchscreen as well as the control keys under the display. The Nokia 5230 is available in 7 different color combinations and the battery cover comes in different colors to help you customize the phone. However, the Nokia 5230 is come with a little bit different in the specs with XpressMusic 5800. Firstly, Nokia has eliminated the WiFi connection in Nokia 5230, so the only to get high speed internet connection is depends on the 3G connectivity. Next is the camera, there is no more 3.15MP camera that we saw in 5800 anymore in 5230. Instead of it, the 5230 is equipped with a 2MP camera. So it can be tell that Nokia to downgraded some of the specs in 5800 in order to make 5230 more affordable. Since there are no big differences in hardware between 5800 and 5230, so visitor can go to the review of 5800 to get more detail about the hardware. SoftwareNokia 5230 running on the Symbian S60 5th Edition that also has been use in XpressMusic 5530, but with some improvement in the UI. At the homescreen, the horizontal shortcut at the bottom is remains but the content inside of it is changed. No more shortcut for Facebook application found, instead of it is the Ovi Store app that for you to purchase musics, games and application. The search shortcut also has been replaced by the Ovi Map shortcut. Other than that, not much different. The media and messaging shortcuts still remains, but have been switched location. The Nokia 5230 also come with the latest version of Ovi maps. This version of Ovi maps now is support 3D images of landmarks, aerial images and terrain map views. The music playback is still the selling point of 5230. The music play for 33 hours still available in the phone. The phone is more responsive than before. Other than that, there are no other noticeable changes , so you can check out the review of XpressMusic 5530 about its software. ConclusionIn a nutshell, the Nokia 5230 is the combination of XpressMusic 5530 and XpressMusic 5800 and eliminated the WiFi and 3.2MP camera. It is weird that Nokia don’t change the design of the new device. Customer may confuse it with 5800 and it is not a good marketing purpose.
