Nokia 6730 classic Review

The Nokia 6730 classic is the recent addition to the Nokia Series 60 team that start shipping from June. Although the 6730 Classic running on the Symbian S60 OS, but it is not a high-end smartphone, it only provide mid-range functionality. Nevertheless, the Nokia 6730 Classic is still a decent device which packed with excellent features.

Design

Nokia 6730 Classic has the typical candy bar form factor. It has a sleek design curvy at the edges with a distinct outlook and is armed with a  2.2 inch screen space that displays colorful and low contrast images. Measuring at 112 x 46 x 13mm, the device has a very light 83 grams of weight, so it not only comfortable to hold in hand but also will not be a burden your pocket. The keypad on this phone is flat and easy to press as it is quite tactile. At the top, you may find the 2.5mm audio jack (not the 3.5mm), microUSB jack and the charger plug. Turn to the left side, you may find the shortcut key to operate the Ovi Maps and at the right side houses the microSD memory card slot, and of course the camera is on the back. overall the design of Nokia 6700 Classic is quite simple and neat.

Features

Although the Nokia 6730 Classic has a simple appearance, but don’t think it is a basic phone. In fact, there are many features that will come with this phone. As mention above, the 6730 Classic run on  the S60 platform so you can install a lot of productivity software such as document viewers, expense trackers, etc.

The navigational functionalities in this phone includes A-GPS and turn by turn navigation, which is one of the major highlights of Nokia 6730 Classic. Since it will be exclusive to Vodafone, you’ll have to subscribe for the Nokia maps (Ovi Maps) support.

The built-in music player is able to play MP3, eAAC+ & WMA format. Also, the handset is through a Vodafone exclusive, so users are allow to enjoy the Vodafone Music Client which is a one touch on device portal for access to the Vodafone Music Shop. A FM tuner which supports a RDS radio feature which allows the user to view radio information also included in the phone.

The 6730 Classic supports 3G-supported HSDPA high-speed downloads and HSUPA high-speed uploads technology which allows the user to experience high speed connectivity. So surfing the internet is not a problem in this handset.

The Nokia 6730 spot a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus but no useable LED light. It can be capturing images up to resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. The camera also allowed to capturing video up to 15fps, but in VGA video format. Since it has the high-speed 3G connection, so the phone also features a videocall camera for you to talk to your friends face to face.

Conclusion

The Nokia 6730 classic is an elegant device, optimized for mobile internet and navigation. Although it don’t have any eye-catching features, but all in one the handset can perform very well.
