Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO Review
|
At first, we thought that the Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO was another touchscreen device that come from the popular Omnia line-up. But we are wrong, in fact, there are no touchscreen at all in Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO and also not the multimedia device that we had seen on other Omnia. Actually, the Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO is a business phone that much like the Blackberries. We don’t know why Samsung use the name of Omnia, maybe it ‘Pro’ is the key point to differentiate the conventional Omnia and business-centric Omnia. For whatever the phone name is, name is not the importing issues after all. All we more likely to concern is what is inside the phone. DesignThe Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO is a Blackberry-style smart phone that come in candy-bar form factor and equipped with a full QWERTY keypad. With the weight of 102.1 grams and 117 x 61 x 12.7mm size, the device is slightly smaller than BlackBerry Tour 9630, which is a good thing. It is more compact and felt comfortable hold in hand. The display spot the 2.4 inches, 65K colors,320 x 240 pixels TFT screen. The display is moderate one, and has been use in many handset. Below the display you will see a optical D-pad surrounded by softkeys that flank the D-Pad, a homescreen button, a back button, and the call and end buttons. For the Qwerty keypad, it is not as good as BlackBerry one. The space between keys are narrow make we easy type the wrong key. But the good thing about the keypad is it has added the shortcut key for frequently use application such as email and mute keys. FeaturesThe Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO is running 528 MHz processor that has 256 MB RAM, 256 MB ROM. The OS that implemented is Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 and response pretty fast on this phone. The OS has a Samsung TouchWiz-like UI. But since it is not a touch sensitive device , so instead of using your finger on the screen, the directional pad is in use to control the phone. The camera is come in 3.15MP of resolution and able to take pictures up to 2048×1536 pixels. It has also features smile shutter, face detection, autofocus, etc for you to play with. Picture quality is decent, but not good as in the Samsung Jet S8000 one. Since it is a WinMo business device, there are a lot of features help in your office work like Push Email option from Microsoft Exchange, which makes mailing faster and convenient. Not to mention the popular Pocket Office which allows you to view and edit Word, excel and PowerPoint documents also is included. However, the PDF’s files can only be viewed. The phone has use the Windows Media Player 10 as the multimedia player. Despite the instant messaging tools like MSN, Windows Live, Yahoo! and AOL for you to chat with your friends, the Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO also integrated with MySpace and Facebook, the two hottest social network on the internet. Therefor, you can keep in touch with your friends easily. Of course you will need a good internet connection to do this. Since the phone support 3G HSDPA network and WLAN Wi-Fi® technology, access to the internet is not a problem at all. ConclusionIf you have noticed the previous Samsung business phone i637 Jack which is exclusive to AT&T, you will found that Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO almost have the identical spec as Jack, in both hardware and software. Yes,you can say it is just the European version of the Samsung i637 Jack which is available in the United States. The phone seems nothing so particularly special, and pretty boring actually. Compare to BlackBerries, it is left far behind. But if you just want a business phone that can handle basic office file for you, Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO is still worthwhile to consider. |
