samsung-f480-review-192x300 Samsung F480 Review

Samsung F480 is another large screen, touchscreen, high-end fissional phone that has been released since May 2008. The Samsung F480 is similar in design not only to the popular Samsung Armani and also the hottest new comer in this industry-Apple iphone. Apparently, the success of iphone has already started up the war of touchscreen devices in the mobile phone manufacturers industry.

The Samsung F480 stands at 95.9 x 55 x 11.5 mm which can be consider as one of the most compact handsets (in its similarly sized screen) on the market. Most of F480 body is cover by a brushed metal that make it look solid. On the front there is a 2.8″ touch display which, supporting a resolution of 240х320 pixels and 262k colors. Over the display are video calling camera and the speaker, and under it is the three buttons that use to activating the shortcut menu. The front look is so simple but feels high class and makes the phone like expensive look. However the downside is the phone total fingerprint magnet that you will have to clean up the screen regularly.

The Samsung F480 uses the Touch Whiz UI instead of the Croix software which is not the best implementation for a touchscreen UI. And the supports haptic feedback which is a commonplace for handsets that use a touchscreen LCD for data input. We are happy to see the interface icons in the menus are full-colored and are pleasure to the eyes and big enough to press. To control the phone is pretty easy. However, as most of the tuchscreen phone it is accompanied by an annoying lag. Overall the touchscreen work very well.

The 5 megapixel camera is not the new thing for Samsung. For the Samsung F480, beside 5MP camera it is also has includes autofocus, 4X digital zoom and LED flash. The camera actually is quite impressive. It can take quite decent photo but I would prefer F480 to features Xenon flash instead of LED flash to better capture in the dark area.

F480 is come with 223MB memory and it can expend via MicroSD which support up to 8 G card. So memory won’t be the problem for you to store your music or even video. Yes, the phone features media player that can play almost all the audio format (MP3, AMR-NB, I-Melody, SMAF, XMF, MIDI, SP MIDI, AAC, AAC+, Enhanced AAC+ & WMA).And video formats (MPEG4, H.263, H.264 & WMV) also can be enjoyed in this phone as well. To connect to internet, F480 won’t disappoint you because it supports HSDPA with speeds up to 7.2 Mbit/s, which will provide you high speed internet access. However, Samsung F480 is a tri-band GSM and Wi-Fi excluded. This may turn some people away.

This phone is truly impressing me. This is an excellent phone come with both beauty and brilliant function. But some body has claims that F480 is a clone of iphone. Well, I got nothing to say about it. Love it or hate it, depends on you.
