samsung-g810-review-300x233 Samsung G810 Review

There was a rumor said that the Samsung G810 was released to beat Nokia N95. If this rumor is true then Nokia might be beaten by Samsung because so obviously that Samsung G810 has a better function then Nokia N95. The Samsung G810 is using Symbian-based as its OS, this is so rarely happened. We only know that Nokia is the big fans of Symbian so when Samsung announced that G810 is a Symbian-based OS phone, everybody will guess that Samsung is going to compete with Nokia.

Anywhere, the Samsung G810 no doubt is an excellent phone. The design of Samsung G810 looks solid and business-like. What makes the phone stand out from the other is the camera function of G810. The G810 got a 5 mega pixel camera with the 3x optical zoom as well as 1:3.5-6.8, focal length 4.75-14.25 mm. The phone also completed with the xenon flash, face detection and lens cover which make G810 look more photography camera like. The only weakness of the camera would be optical zoom reduces picture quality noticeably

The display of Samsung G810 can hardly be called anything but typical Samsung. Samsung always is the pioneer in the display field. The G810 utilizes a 2,6-inch TFT matrix offering you the resolution of 240×320 pixels (40×53 mm) and showing up to 262K colors in a juicy and vibrant picture. The display accommodates up to 12 text and 3 service lines. Even with the default font size you will be able to get up to 16 lines of text in some modes. Apparently, it make user easier to read on the phone.

The Samsung G810 includes GPS system. Unlike other’s phone have to use Nokia Maps or at very least Smart2Go inside to run the GPS. Samsung get rid all of this. This means you won’t be able to install Smart2Go on the G810, as there is no application with the required security certificate to. The navigation mode drains the battery in around two hour. For short journey this will be not a problem.

Other Samsung G810 features include WiFi, TV-Out, and HSDPA (2100MHz), Google search box directly on the Active Standby screen and etc. Overall, this phone is really functional. But I just don’t like the large size and heavy weight of the phone. It’s sometime too big to put into a pocket. Beside the phone is tri-band only, so not every country can use it. Most importantly, the cost is too high for me. I know I should not complain its price because almost every smartphone is at the same price level.
