Samsung S7350 Ultra s Review – Mid-Range Multimedia Phone
|
The Samsung S7350 Ultra s is the latest entries in Ultra line. Apparently, the new comer is look similar to Samsung UltraTOUCH S8300 but there are still a number of differences under the cover. DesignBeing a slider with the dimension of 109.0 x 50.5 x 12.6 mm, the Samsung S7350 is considered quite slim and not chunky at all. The body mostly cover by the matt plastic only at the black frame around the display is made by brushed metallic finish. Display is a 2.6 inches display that provides 240×400 pixel resolution. The display legibility suffers a bit in the bright sun though it is large and bright. Below the display lies the our-way navigation pad sticks. The large D-pad with confirming center is quite user-friendly too. Slide open unveil the numeric keypad, the buttons row are not quite well organized. The uppermost row is pretty close to the edge make it a bit hard to pressing any number from 1 to 3. Overall, the appearance of S7350 is decent, but the keypad design and sliding mechanism turn it down. Music And VideoThe S7350 Ultra s has a Music and video player that supports a wide range of media formats including DviX/ XviD/ MPEG4/ H.263/ H.264/ WMV9 for video support and MP3/AAC/WMA for music playback. Sound quality through the only loudspeaker is good, but the bass seem lacks enough punch. Video playback also pleasing as it has a big 2.6-inch display. CameraThe Camera inside Samsung S7350 is a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus capabilities. The interface is quite easy to use and delivers a wide range of options like white balance, exposure control, scenes, face and smile detection and etc. The quality of picture is good, the colors are vivid and realistic and good contrast. however, it still suffered a little bit of image noise. For video recording, the Samsung Ultra S S7350 captures videos at 720×480 resolution and 30 frames per second. The quality of the video is acceptable but it consume a lot of power from the battery. So you still can’t take long video clips. There is also a built-in GPS receiver that powers the geotagging service for you to remember where the snapshot has been taken. GPSThe is an integrated GPS receiver in this handset. However, the GPS also suffer for the battery power consumption problem. It claims only lasted only 2 hours and 15 minutes in this mode, but we doubted. In real life, it is always shorter than they said. Nevertheless, we still admit that he S7350 is quite useful for in-car navigation, all thanks to its loud and clear voice guide. One of the most intriguing features of Samsung S7350 Ultra s is its GPS receiver and the Samsung Mobile Navigator application, which is made by Route66 and offers turn-by-turn navigation and various maps and location-services. ConclusionThe Samsung S7350 Ultra s is a is pretty good multimedia phone as well as elegant exterior. Despite the poor sliding mechanism and lack of WiFi, the handset is still worth to buy as soon as the price is not to high. |
