The latest entries of Sony Ericsson  T-series handset is totally different from other  T-series phone. It´s all about design and outward appearance, it is the first flip phone in the bunch. Known as Sony Ericsson T707, the phone inspiration was come from rainbows, claimed by the designer. What more the phone has the official endorsement of famous tennis player Maria Sharapova. Obviously this modest mid-ranger is targeting young and fashionably women.

Design

Sony Ericsson T707 measures 93 x 50 x 14.1 mm and weighs 95 grams. It is in quite general thick as other clamshell phone but overall weight is nicely balanced too and quite comfortable to hold in palm. The external cover of T707 is where rainbows are made and it is houses both a secondary display plus some hidden light effects.  The 1.1-inch external OLED display notifies users of new messages and calls, and gesture controls allow users to wave their hand over the device to end an incoming call or snooze an alarm. Next to the screen there is a round-shaped dent. It is where the ‘rainbow’ are which can be assigned their own colors and the manufacturer claims this will help you easily recognize who´s calling.

Open the flip unveiled the 2.2-inch display with resolution of 240×320 pixels and a numeric keypad at the bottom. The display is performs nicely and remains altogether legible under direct sunlight. The keypads is flat and has been well spacing. There are three available color for this handset. There are Mysterious Black (black), Spring Rose (pink), and Lucid Blue (blue).

Music & Video

The music player that come with Sony Ericsson T707 is version 3.0 which is a simple edition of edition of Walkman player 3.0. To get to your music and video files, you´d need to go through the nice-looking Media menu. The music player supports numerous file formats including MP3/eAAC+/WMA/WMA files. The music quality is excellent thanks to the MegaBass equalizer preset and Stereo widening. Video player in the phone is common type. It support MPEG4/WMV/H.263 files and allow user to fast-forwarding and rewinding. Further more, there is pre-installed YouTube client in the video section too. It gives you full access to clips and uploading, bookmarked favorites and so on. There is also a built in FM Radio with RDS technology tah has memory for 20 stations in this phone. It is an alternative for user to get fun with the phone.

Camera

The 3.2 MP camera in this phone are regular type. It feature a digital zoom, LED flash, photo fix, photo blogging, geo-tagging and photo feeds features. The image quality is acceptable which is no surprises here.  Video recording on T707 is limited to QVGA resolution at 15 frames per second. It has a built-in video light which for the indoor video capturing.

Connectivity ANd Internet

T707 has support for quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) with UMTS support on the 2100MHz band and HSDPA for high-speed data connectivity. Internet and data transfers are speedy which is all down to the GPRS, EDGE and 3G HSDPA (which will supports calling and 3G networks around the world.) technologies.

Final Words

We really like Sony Erisson T707.  Not to mention it stylish design, the phone also features all the need for a phone- 3G support, a 3 mega pixel snapper, a M2 memory slot, FM radio which is make the phone entertainingly. However, T707 is not the only mid-range phone that come with rich features. There are a lot of mid-range phone in the market and there are mostly all-touch handsets such as LG Cookie or Samsung S5230. The only reason people will choose SE T707 maybe is only for its different form factor from other and perhaps, Maria Sharapova’s fans too.
