The latest entry for the Sony Ericsson Walkman Phone series is the Sony Ericsson W715 that exclusive through Vodafone, which is also the updated version of Sony Ericsson W705. The Sony Ericsson W175 is added with the GPS features and make it different from the SEW705. Apart of that , the W715 and W705 almost is the same.

Design

The Sony Ericsson W715 has the popular classic slider design. It is compact and stylish. The display is a 2.4 inch TFT screen displaying up to 262k colours with screen resolutions of 320 x 240 pixels. The display has the auto rotate feature, which is able to view in either horizontal or vertical mode. Below the display is the navigation and soft keys and it is obviously no any surprising element at here. Behind the main screen lies the ultra flat alpha-numeric keypad. The feedback of these keys is great and you won’t miss the key you want to press, it has a nice touch orientation. There are two colors available for this model which are Galactic Black and Luxury Silver.

Music

We are very pleased with the music features in this handset. There are so many music features and technologies on this Sony Ericsson W715! Not to mention the well known Walkman player, SensMe and Shake Control, it also includes Vodafone Music, Album Art Display Bluetooth with A2DP and a built-in FM Radio with RDS technology. Beside that, user are also can enjoy the clearer bass and sound effect with the Clear Stereo and Clear Bass features.  The music quality is really impressed!

Camera

The camera in Sony Ericsson is just average. It’s not bad, it is just meet the standard for a 3.2 mega-pixel camera can done.  The camera has come with Digital Zoom, Photo Light, Photo Fix and the Geo Tagging technologies features. However, the LED flash obviously is not good for the camera to take picture under dark environment. For video, the camera able to record QVGA video at 15fps. There is a video light feature to help you videoing in dull surroundings, but unfortunately it is also using the LED flash to function. However, it is better than nothing.

Connectivity , internet and GPS

The Sony Ericsson W715 operates on a Quad-band network which covers GSM and UMTS network. It also support GPRS, EDGE and WLan network as well. For 3G, it use the HSDPA which the speed is 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA with the speed of 2 Mbps. Connect to the internet is a breeze with the built-in Access NetFront web browser along with Web Feeds technology.  As we already mentioned, there’s GPS on board the W715. The navigation software included is the Vodafone Find&Go but you still able to use Google Maps.

Application

The Sony Ericsson W715 comes with a few extra applications, which including AccuWeather Lite for providing weather info, CamPlus for taking automatically a succession of images, Walk Make, which is a step counting application with detailed reports on past activity and integrated YouTube client, which give you better video streaming experience.

Final Words

The Sony Ericsson W715 is an excellent phone. It is more than a music phone, with its internet capability, it is a good internet browsing device too.
