Motorola A1600 MING and A1800 MING are released quietly by Motorola Recently. Both of these smartphone are unveiled follow by the success of Moto A1200 MING in Asia market, especially in China. Obviously the ‘MING’ is come from the Chinese’s word ‘明’which is mean ‘bright’ in English. Maybe Moto is wish for the phone can bring ‘bright’ future to the company since Moto has lagged far behind in the phone industry.

Actually Motorola MING A1600 and A1800 are twins that almost identical to each other, no matter is in term of their features or their design. The biggest different of these phone would be the A1800 can connect both GSM and CDMA at the same time. As we look at the design of both phones, we are hardly to differential which is the A1600 or A1800. But one thing to be sure is both have the eye-catching beautiful stylish clamshell design. Both these smartphones include a 2.4″ QVGA touchscreen display, with a transparent flip cover for protection. The phones also come with a stylus instead of using thumbs or finger to control the phones.

The features for both handsets includes OS that powered by a special edition of Mobile Linux, 3 megapixel camera that features continuous autofocus, handy business card scanner, A microSD card slot that support up to 4G memory card. stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), a microUSB port, a stereo FM radio, Real Player and etc. But the most remarkable features of these MotoMing phones would be its 2.4-inch Touchscreen that supports Fuzzy Pin Yin Handwriting Recognition, which ease Chinese users in typing. However, this feature seems useful for the Chinese users only. Besides that, this Motorola phone also has built-in aGPS support for turn-by-turn navigation, making it a good replacement for standalone GPS navigation system. But once again, Maps of mainland China are included, but nowhere else. What a disappointed.

Since the China mainland haven’t support the 3G network, the Motorola A1600 MING and A1800 MING also does not support 3G. What’s worse is that it also lacks Wi-Fi.You only can get connected to the internet by the GPRS network. This could be the greatest killer for the phones in the places that other then China. Maybe we should not disappointed by the phones. Like unwired .com said– let’s be optimistic and not say that it’s probably because it won’t launch anywhere else. We can hope, can’t we?
